Who we are

DBW COMMUNICATION, along with the company EUTELSAT SA and OPENSKY Srl, is a founding member of the “3D STEREOSCOPIC GROUP”, the European consortium leader in production and distribution of live contents produced in stereoscopic 3D-HD.

DBW COMMUNICATION scored several firsts in the production of contents in Live 3D-HD via satellite in collaboration with the 3D Stereoscopic Group:

  • 5 January 2012: “X Factor”, the famous talent show, has been produced for the first time worldwide in S3D. X Factor 3D is the first television program to be produced in S3D-HD in Italy. A Sky 3D production.

  • 13 December 2011: DBW Communication realizes, for the first time in Italy, the shooting in S3D-HD of an opera, the Falstaff. A Sky 3D production.

  • 12 December 2011: “A.S. ROMA vs Juventus F.C” is the first football match of Italian “Serie A” to be shot and broadcasted in S3D-HD in Italy. Produced by Infront.

  • 18 October 2011, “S.S.C. Napoli vs Bayern Monaco” is the first football match of the European Champions League to be shot and broadcasted in S3D-HD in Italy. A Sky 3D production.

  • May-August 2011, Dbw Communication provides all the technical staff and all the S3D technologies for the shooting of “Dracula 3D”, the first 3D movie ever shot by Dario Argento.

  • 18 March 2011, “Galatasaray vs. Fenerbhace” is the first football match of the Turkish Championship ever to be shot and transmitted by satellite in S3D-HD. Produced by DigiTurk.

  • March 2011, Dbw Communication realizes for “History Channel” the movie ”History continues in 3D”, which narrates about the history of stereoscopy from the end of 800’ to our days. This production has been trasmitted in a mobile truck in the most important Italian cities. Produced by Fox International Channels Italy.

  • 17 January 2011: “Vuoto a perdere” was the first 4k-S3D video clip ever to be produced in Italy. The song was written by Italian rockstar Vasco Rossi, performed by Noemi and directed by Fausto Brizzi. A Riviera Film production for Sony Music.

  • 05 January 2011: DBW Communication realized the world’s first convention entirely produced in S3D (slides, videos, live speeches, S3D animation). The convention on Zerinol was organized by the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim in Barcelona inside the Maremagnum Cinema complex. A Red Cell / Prodigy production.

  • 16 November 2010: Francesco Renga’s show was the first Italian concert ever to be filmed and transmitted in S3D-HD by satellite to Italian cinemas. Produced by The Space Cinema.

  • 13 November 2011: Quattroruote S3D. The most famous Italian automobile magazine produced the first test drives filmed in 4K-S3D of the new BMW models. A Done srl production.

  • 16 October 2010: “Adopt a Cell” is the first social spot in Italy ever to be shot and projected into theaters in S3D. A Magic Pictures srl production for Hill & Knowlton Gaia.

  • 12 September 2010: The London Sinfonietta concert in Krakow was the first live musical event ever to be filmed and transmitted by satellite in S3D-HD to cinemas and televisions in Poland. Produced by TOProduction.

  • 12 July 2010: filming of the advertising campaign in three dimensions for MediaWorld (the Italian branch of the German Group Mediamarkt Saturn Holding GmBH), supplying all the necessary equipment, technology and personnel for the S3D production of three spots for cinema and television and a full page advertisement in the magazine “Sette”, insert of Corriere della Sera. Advertising Agency: Cayenne, Production Company: Piana Film.

  • 11 June 2010: technical and executive production of the spot Tooway. Advertisement shown before the World Cup Football games screened in Italy’s 3D cinemas. A Pentastudio-OpenSky production.

  • 14 May 2010: Wisła Kraków – Odra Wodzisław. The final match of the Polish championship was the first football game ever to be produced and transmitted by satellite in S3D-HD in Poland for television and movie theatres. A production by “Canal Plus” and “Multi Production”.

  • 5 May 2010: “AS Roma vs Internazionale FC”. The final of the “Italian Cup 2010” was the first football game ever to be produced and transmitted by satellite in S3D-HD in Italian movie theaters. A production by “The Space”.

  • 24 April – 8 May 2010, the main women’s tennis matches of the “Internazionali di Tennis” in Rome were the first tennis matches to be shot in three dimensions in Italy.

  • 12/17 April 2010: DBW Communication participates as the only supplier of the stereoscopic 3D shooting materials for the filming of the concert of the Spanish singer "Bunbury" (the very first program to be broadcast by the new Spanish TV channel “Canal+3D"). A Canal+3D production.

  • 2 April 2009: The first basketball game produced in three dimensions and transmitted by satellite in Europe: Monte Paschi vs Eldo Caserta. The production was made in collaboration with SkyItalia.

  • 19 June 2009: Acea ‘s “100 years for Rome” was the world’s first live show to be broadcast in three dimensions via satellite on a widescreen, outdoors in a public space.

DBW COMMUNICATION’s customers include: all three national networks of Italian public television (RAI 1-2-3), RAI SAT, RAI Educational, La 7, Sky Italy, Al Jazeera International, Eutelsat, Sky Logic.

DBW COMMUNICATION is also a partner of BP SPA for live productions in 3D-HD format (with an exclusive for Italy), PANALIGHT SPA for technology and manpower for the production of three-dimensional movies and advertising and IMAGINA3D srl for consultancy and marketing of stereoscopic productions.

Audiovisual productions by DBW COMMUNICATION were submitted and have received awards in many of the major film and television festivals: Venice Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica; Rome Fiction Fest, Torino Film Festival, Asolo Art Film Festival; IFFLA of Los Angeles; Festival Uruguay International Film Festival, International Film Festival in Monterrey, Mexico; Bollywood Movie Festival in Prague, B-EST International Film Festival in Bucharest.
