Passion, insults and disappointment. At the movies like in a curve.

Il Corriere della Sera, 6 May 2010

What makes the biggest impression are the flags: they wave out of the screen on top of the spectators heads, you can practically hear them swish above the ears of the fans cheering for the yellow-red team and with their faces sporting 3D glasses, three dimensional. But those flags are waving at the Olimpic stadium whereas the public is seated inside the Warner Moderno Cinema in Piazza della Republica in the center of Rome.
One of the two Roman theaters involved in the experiment for the final of the Italian Cup, the other Parco de' Medici. Both cinemas transmitted on a three dimensional screen, contemporaneously with theaters in Milan, Vicenza and Parma. Read the entire article

Together with the development of digital technology in the movie theaters, 3D confers the transmission of live events in HD in a completely new dimension.
This extraordinary technology offers the spectator a rich and unique experience, very similar to a real performance in front of the stage.

Rome’s Celebration of Water and Energy in 3D

For the first time a live outdoor event was transmitted in 3D-HD stereo via satellite: it was the celebration of water and energy in Rome. The performance “Rome the City of Water and Light”, was an event open to the public transmitted live via satellite in 3D-HD by the 3D Stereoscopic Group.
On the occasion of the 100 year celebration of Rome’s multiservice company ACEA, la performance, conceived by Valerio Festi, took place on a large stage between the Pincio and the obelisk of Piazza del Popolo and was transmitted via satellite on a 3D maxi screen to the jetty of Ostia.
To realize this spectacular premier the following was used: a 3D maxi screen of approximately 40 square meters; the distribution of more than 3000 3D glasses to the public; two projectors for the reproduction of 3D HD stereo contents.
Responsible for the realization of this unique transmission: the international operator Eutelsat who offered its Atlantic Bird 3 satellite; DBW Communication specialized in the production of stereoscopic filming; Open-Sky specialized in the transmission, reception via satellite and relative integration with digital 3d screening systems.
